Welcoming New Beginnings in 2009
January 1, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Happy New Year! It’s certainly been awhile since my last post. The last few months of ‘08 were truly a difficult time for me so I’m looking forward to happier times and new beginnings. I lost my father very suddenly and it really just broke my heart. I’m a daddy’s girl so it’s been tough losin’ my hero. My dad was a fun, silly, yet brilliant man and his physical presence in my life will be deeply missed. Love ya Da
On another note, I started homeschooling my three children in November. WOW, who would have thought I’d be homeschooling! So many enlightening experiences I’ve been having. While I say that with just a hint of sarcasm, it really has been a great experience for them and me. The name of our school is Natural Genius Academy and one of our core curriculums is financial literacy.
Hey, c’mon… you know I’m going there. Already started learning about creating real assets that put money in your pocket. This has led to some funny conversations between my 7 and 9 yr old. This year they’ll be setting up their own business and learning more about investments and putting money to work for them.
My dad was very disciplined with his money and he taught me a lot directly and indirectly. He gave my sister and I a foundation to stand on and launch from so we could do better than him and now I’m doing the same with all the knowledge I’ve acquired from my mentors and coaches.
Creating generational wealth is much more than just passing along a trust and assets after you’re gone. It’s the mindset that’s cultivated and the seeds planted along the way that’s so important so that the wealth continues to grow generation after generation.
In alignment with that I’ve got some more resources, tools and trainings I’ll be sharing that help us business owners really leverage our time more effectively. You KNOW I’ve got to use systems and technology if I’m going to operate a successful business while homeschooling a 3, 7, and 9 year old.
Hmmm, I might need to get my head checked. lol
Happy New Year and hug the ones you love a little tighter.
